This fanfic is about what happened to Councillor Terik in Lumenaria and the challenges he faced after. All of it is in Councillor Terik's perspective. Hope you enjoy!
A tremor shook the ground as the castle walls fell before my eyes. I channeled all of my energy into my muscles and sprinted as fast as I could.
But not fast enough.
A sharp pain shot through me as a chunk of the castle crushed my leg with a terrible crunch. I cried out in agony, falling to the ground. Blood pooled around me, filling the air with a horrible iron smell. The last thing I felt was a pair of strong arms carry me away.
Then the world faded to black.
* * *
Voices swam in and out of my head, calling for me to wake up.
But awake would be hard. I would have to face the pain.
Then, I heard a new voice.
Emery. He had always been there for me. And I was always there for him. And as I listened to his sobs, I realized that he needed me more than ever.
So I slowly, painstakingly, opened my eyes.
All the voices slowly stopped as they realized that I was awake. Elwin rushed over and asked me how I was feeling. My head was pounding, my body was sore, and my leg... my leg was numb.
Everyone was looking at me with grim faces. I knew something was wrong.
That's when it hit me. That's when I realized why I couldn't feel my leg.
No.
It couldn't be.
No.
I jolted upright, ignoring the pain that tore through my back in the process.
My leg was gone.
I sank back onto my pillow, fighting back the sobs that had caught in my throat.
Life would never be the same again

Chapter Three:
The next day, I heard a knock at my castle door. When I wheeled myself over, I found Dex, Iskra, and some other great Technopaths standing in before me. Even the Black Swan's Technopath, someone called Tinker, was there, wearing a Black Swan-esque disguise. Elwin and Livvy had also come to see if they could help. I welcomed them in, and Dex smiled at me. I had a feeling he was excited to work on a project for a Councillor after he had been scorned his whole life.
But, his smile quickly faded when he noticed my leg.
We got started right away. I had hoped that they could make something permanent, that would move exactly like my leg did before.
Something that would make everything normal again.
Like nothing had ever happened.
But they told me that technology wasn't flesh, and that I'd be happier if I learned to adapt to a prosthesis. Adapting sounded...slow. I could feel tears burning my eyes. I had been clinging to the hope that they would be able to fix everything.
Dex walked over and placed his hand over mine. "I promise we'll do eveyrthing we can," he said.
"Everything," the others echoed. I smiled at him, and he grinned back.
They started working after that, doing lots of measurements, and saying lots of "Is this comfortable?" The answer was always yes, but it would never be as comfortable as a real leg.
After another hour, the Technopaths did their final tweaks and glittered away. I couldn't hold it in anymore. Tears slid down my cheeks as I cried silently. I cried for my leg. I cried for the million-mile road ahead of me. I cried for everything I had lost, and for everything the Neverseen had won.
Just then, I heard my castle door creak open. It was Oralie. She held my hand as I stared out the window, thinking about anything and everything at the same time.
"Don't look back. Only forward. " she said, as if she knew what I was thinking about.
Don't look back. Only forward. It was exactly what I needed to do. I could face the long road ahead with the steady support of all my friends.
Emery.
Oralie.
Even Dex.
Nothing could change the past. But I could change the present. And I definitely will.
Soooo... I've been copy-pasting this from a different site, (don't worry - I'm not plagiarizing. This work is all my own) but I've only written this much so far. It's probably going to take me longer to do another chapter.
Chapter Two:
I shut my eyes, hoping I could fall back into that dreamless oblivion, where everything was like normal.
Where Lumenaria was still standing.
Where my leg was still attached to my body.
But, when I closed my eyes, all I could see was the glowing walls of the castle, crumbling before me.
With nothing I could do.
I opened my eyes again, and asked Elwin for somnalene. I hoped that this was all just a dream, and that when I woke up, everything would be normal again.
Watching the eyedrops shimmer before my eyes, I fell into a deep sleep.

Two weeks later, I wheeled myself out of Elwin's office.
That morning, he had told me that I was finally strong enough to light leap back to my castle. When I had asked him what was next, it was not good news. Rest. Using a wheelchair. Learning how to walk with a prosthesis.
I was also worried about my position on the Council, though. What would the other Councillors think? Could I still even be a Councillor?
These questions, and about a million others, stuck in my head as I helped myself up a newly designed ramp into my castle.
Inside, all eleven of the other Councillors were waiting for me, along with a table custard bursts and mallowmelt and butterblasts and everything the other Councillors knew I loved. It was a bittersweet reunion, but even Bronte and Alina were smiling by the end. It was by far the best day I'd had since the day I'd realized my leg was gone.
After we had all filled ourselves with the delicious desserts, Oralie placed my circlet on my head and told me to meet up with them in Eternalia.
"If you don't feel up to coming, it's okay." the pink cheeked Councillor said gently.
"No, I-" Oralie's words caught up with me. "Wait, I can still be a Councillor?"
Bronte laughed - laughed - "Of course! You are one of our most valuable assets. It would be absurd to kick you off the Council."
"But how am I going to do stuff?" I asked.
"Well," said Emery, "your missions will be more limited, but you can still do plenty of work without having to travel to other places."
"Really?" I asked.
"Really." they said
"Oh! Just to warn you, some of our best Technopaths, including Dex Dizznee, are coming over tomorrow to help with a prosthesis." Clarette told me.
I was glad that Dex would be coming. He was really kind, and in my opinion, the best Technopath out there.
"We've also been making plans with the Redek family" Alina added. "They know what it's like to have a change in physical circumstance."
"Wow, you did all that, for me?" I asked, "Thank you."
"It was the least we could do," They said. "We were all so worried about you, and we want you to know that if you need anything, all you have to do is ask. If anything's too hard for you, just say the word. And we'll try to help as much as we can."
As the Councillors glittered away, I smiled, realizing that this was probably the best day I've ever had. And that was a lot of days, considering that I was 253 years old.
I adjusted my circlet, put on my cape and clasp, and leapt to Eternalia, feeling like myself again.
